Tucker's Turkey Trot

Roll Up, Roll Up. A Festive Fundraiser as Junior Organiser, Simon Tuckwell, is running the Keyworth Turkey Trot, on Sunday 13th of December. The half marathon starts and finishes at South Wolds, taking in the delights of Wysall, Widmerpool and the Bakers' and Harris' Country retreats at Willoughby.

£1 per square to guess the exact time that Tuckers crosses the finishing line, yes there is a 'did not finish' box! The time starts at 1:34:00 and goes up in 5 second intervals through to 1:44:35. The prize for the person with the winning time is a No.8 Delicatessen Christmas Hamper.

All funds raised will be put towards the KCC Junior Section which is set for expansion in 2010. Watch this space.

Training had been going well with a satisfying time for the Crossdale 10k a month back. Recent weeks have seen the Tollerton Express prove an after hours distraction as the d-day ticks closer!

The Number card will be present at the Presentation Night and the AGM, so dig deep for a good cause.

Under 12's Awards Night

Back (L-R) Healey, Coulthard, Stolworthy, Newell, Hennessy, Neece, Mills, Normington.
Front (L-R) Cairns, Shepherd, Brown, Steiner, Tudor

A full compliment of 36: players, brothers, sisters and parents saw the Under 12’s descend upon the Megabowl to wrap up their season in style. 6 lanes of… 5, no 6, meant game on for bragging rights. Team Steiner nobley opted for the barriers down whilst the other 5 lanes thought better of it. Coulthard had all the skills – favouring the triple barrier bounce strike, pirouette and bowl and the reverse through the legs. All crowd pleasing and to good effect.

Boss Hogg had a sharp outfit on which matched his play with some early strikes. Tudor Snr and Tuckwell were bullish and sitting pretty, tied on 139 before Normington Snr finished with a flourish for a Round One high of 149.

Game 2 edged into the 7.30 strobe and neon hour which the boys came into their element and the adults faded, well Tuckwell did. Tudor Snr finished with 5 strikes in 6 bowls for an evening high of 152 as the attention turned to trophies
(after slot machines and other games)
