Kids for a Quid

The Boss, wading his way through his 7th pint of Kingfisher, announced in bullish fashion at the KCC Curry night, that he would be padding up in the morning, at the final Junior net session at Trent Bridge.

On each stump was to be placed a shiny gold pound coin, which would be replaced every time the timber was sent tumbling, with the victor pocketing the cash. The assembled, fearing the worst, decided on an S.O.S mercy whip round to prevent Coach being out of pocket. The Boss laughed in the face of such mocking and settled into Kingfisher number 8.

The boys watched in admiration / amazement / surprise / glee (delete as applicable) as a remarkably fresh looking Leggy took his guard.

With 20 minutes allotted to 'fill ones boots', the Boss displayed the finer points of the forward defensive, despite being caught fishing a couple of times off Stolworthy. After proving so resolute, a clamour for some left handed batting produced the same result.

The Winner!
