10 Week Transformation

The Keyworth Junior Section has had a remarkable 10 weeks. Having just completed the 11th of 12 Saturday morning net sessions, at Trent Bridge, the improvement has been impressive, much to the delight of Leggy and Tuckers. The pace and accuracy of the bowling has increased dramatically as with the power and shot selection of the batting.

Since the clocks sprung forward no time has been wasted. The Field of Dreams has hosted double weekly practice sessions. The Sherriff, Cliff and the President, Mr Barry Baker, have all helped impart the finer points of fielding, match simulation and fetching your own...

The fixture list is 99% complete and can be found in the adjacent column under:

'2009 Junior Fixtures'.

A flurry of friendlies - 4 in the opening 9 days, including the first of 3 head to heads against neighbours Plumtree, ensure the boys hit the ground running. The first league match of the season is on Thursday 7th of May at the Rec against Caythorpe, followed by another home tie a week later against Kimberley.

I have every faith that the boys will put Keyworth back on the map, in regards to Junior Cricket, as we attempt to turn the heads of the established order and show that there are some new kids in town!

Game On.
